ONE ACT PLAY STUDENTS RECOGNIZED AT STATE COMPETITION:

TAOn Friday and Saturday, March 28-29, TA drama students performed The Actor's Nightmare at the State Drama Festival at Otter Valley High School in Brandon, VT. While in attendance, students participated in theater workshops, watched some excellent plays, and offered and received peer feedback pertaining to the shows. Their performance went very well, and individual awards went to Liam Gundlach and Bayley Day for Excellence in Acting, to Sadie Shelton for Outstanding Stage Management, and to Victoria Isquith for her Outstanding Work in Lighting. Thetford Academy's production received a school award forExcellence in Comedic Style. Congratulations to Milton and Long Trail for advancing to the New England Festival in St. Johnsbury, VT, on April 26-28! (Ray Chapin; posted 03.30.14)

ANNUAL FUND CLOSES IN ON GOAL

TAAfter a parent Annual Fund mailing and three phonathons held March 26, April 1, and April 2, the extraordinarily generous parent body came through for Thetford Academy with more than 140 Annual Fund pledges worth over $23,000 to date. Your generosity is appreciated and goes a long way towards helping Thetford Academy deliver high-quality academic, athletic and arts programs. Thank you to parents Amy Bosco, Charlie Buttrey, Kate Hesser, David Leib, Therese Linehan, Theresa Mundy, Annelise Orleck, Jennifer Reining, Curtis Richardson and Steve Siegler for making the phonathon calls. This year's Annual Fund drive will close on June 30; if you would like to contribute there is still time! OPEN YOUR HOME, EXPAND YOUR WORLD:

The International Student Program at Thetford Academy, now in its third year, has been a successful addition to the school and surrounding community and we are still seeking host families for the 2014-15 academic year. What is required? A willingness to support an international student socially, emotionally and academically in a clean, safe living and learning environment for a period of 10 months (one school year). Students range in age from 15 to 18 years old and Thetford Academy provides a monthly stipend of $700 to defray living expenses.
